Wood Pellets

Salopak Wood Pellets

Wood pellets are a form of solid fuel that is made from shredded wood or sawdust and then pressed into small cylindrical pellets. The pellet production process involves processing wood waste to create uniform, small pellets of a specific size. These pellets can be used to heat homes, offices, or other buildings in special pellet stoves or boilers.

Wood pellets are considered an ecological source of energy because they are made from natural materials and contribute to reducing CO2 emissions compared to traditional fuels such as coal or eco-pea coal. They are also a convenient and efficient heating solution because the pellet granules are easy to store and burn, and the pellet stove or boiler can be automatically regulated, ensuring even heat supply. Wood pellets are therefore a popular choice in modern, sustainable heating systems.

How does it work?

How Are Our Wood Pellets Made?

Preparation of raw material:

The most commonly used raw material for pellet production is wood, which must be properly dried and cleaned of impurities such as stones, sand and other unwanted elements.

Grinding and drying:

The wood is then mechanically broken down into smaller pieces. The broken-down raw material must be dried appropriately to reduce its moisture content so that it will burn efficiently.

Ironing and quality control:

The prepared raw material is pressed into small pellets of a specific size and shape. It is then quality-controlled to ensure that it meets specific standards for moisture, density and combustion quality.

Packaging and storage:

The finished pellet is packed in strong plastic bags and then placed on pallets. It is stored in appropriate conditions to maintain its high quality and optimal humidity.

Why is it worth choosing pellets as heating fuel?

Pellets as a heating fuel have many advantages and are therefore gaining more and more popularity in Polish homes year by year. Heating pellets are produced from renewable sources, such as wood and plant biomass, which makes them much more ecological than non-renewable energy sources, such as coal or oil. Burning pellets helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other atmospheric pollutants.
